In a game heard here on KCHA last night, the Charles City softball team would take on Waverly-Shell Rock at home. The Comets were coming off of a loss on Wednesday night and were looking to have a bounce game. Charles City would come up to bat in the first inning and they would take the advantage early. Two of the first three batters would reach base, and then the Comet’s power hitter, Sara Martin, came to the plate. Martin would hit a three-run blast. That home run would give the Comets and early three to nothing lead. Charles City would add one more run in the sixth and would defeat Waverly-Shell Rock, four to one. The Comets sweep their conference rival on the season. Tayler Schmidt scored two runs in the game and Sammy Heyer threw a completer game with nine strikeouts. The Comets are back to their winning ways as they travel to Algona tonight.

North Butler softball had Wednesday night off but they were back in action last night when they traveled to Belmond-Klemme. The Bearcats would continue their great season with another win. The final score of this game would be seven to nothing. North Butler improves to 13 and two and will travel to Central Springs tonight.
