Charles City, Iowa – The fiscal year 2017 Request for Proposal (RFP) forms are now available from FMC (Floyd-Mitchell-Chickasaw) Early Childhood Iowa.

RFP forms must be postmarked by Monday, April 18, 2016 for consideration. All applications must be a signed, hard copy. Specific instructions are included in the grant application materials. Funding for FMC ECI programs are dependent on state and federal funding levels, yet to be announced.

The local FMC ECI organization has funded early childhood programs in the tri-county area since the local FMC Community Empowerment board was established in the fall of 1999. The school ready grant is supported with state funds and has provided eligible local preschoolers with preschool scholarships, Head Start assistance, family support and home visitation, and early literacy opportunities.

The Early Childhood grant is a federally funded grant and has helped child care providers and centers achieve levels of quality. Both grants are targeted to families with children ages birth to five.

The applications to request funding from the Iowa Early Childhood grants are available by contacting the FMC ECI director, Laurie Kristiansen, at: 641-435-4435.
