Speeding Leads To Drug Charges In Chickasaw County

New Hampton, Iowa – On Friday at about 12:06am, the Chickasaw County Sheriff deputies stopped a vehicle on Highway 18 at Pembroke Avenue for a traffic violation.

25 year old Duane Baker of Washburn was arrested during that stop and charged with speeding, failure to provide financial liability, driving while suspended and possession of a controlled substance.

A passenger, 25 year old Michael Creger of Evansdale was also arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, 3rd or subsequent offense.

Both were transported to the Chickasaw County Jail where they were held for their initial court appearance.
