The Iowa Newspaper Association just released its All-State Girls Basketball Teams and three are girls received honors. In Class 3A Ellie Friesen was awarded First Team Honors and in Class 1A Turkey Valley’s Shelby Reicks was named to the First Team and Emma Staudt of Rockford was selected to the Third Team. Friesen, a sophomore, led the Green Devils to the State Tournament by averaging over 19 points per game which included over a 43% clip from 3-Point range. Friesen also led Osage with close to seven assists per game and 86 steals on the season and was second in rebounding with over five per game. Reicks, a junior, helped the Trojans to the Class 1A State Title Game by scoring close to 16 points per game, dishing out almost seven assists per game and grabbing almost five steals per game. Staudt, a junior, scored 15 points per game, grabbed over six rebounds per game, had 41 assists on the season and had 77 steals on the season which led the Warriors in all of those categories.
