Charles City, Iowa – The Charles City Chamber wants to know — how’s your Poker Face?

Anyone 21 years or older is invited to come try their luck and showcase their poker skills on Saturday, April 2, at the Charles City Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Texas Hold-Em Tournament. This year’s event is set to begin at 6 p.m. at the Columbus Club, 502 Clark St., with registration opening at 5 p.m. Once the main tournament has begun, no new entries will be allowed to join in. However, this year a consolation round will be offered starting at 9 p.m.

The cost to play in the tournament is $20 per player, with 100 percent of the registration fees to be paid back out to the top winners and a guaranteed first-place prize of $1,000. A minimum of eight places will be paid out, with prizes awarded in MasterCard and Visa cash gift cards.

Re-buys and add-ons will be available for purchase. There will also be knockout bounties in play.

The consolation tournament will involve a 20-hand limit and cost $10 to participate in, with a maximum of 10 players to a table and half the pot going to the winner. Additional consolation tournaments may be started depending on the number of players.
