The Charles City Comet boys and girls track teams will be in Decorah tonight participating in the Northeast Iowa Conference Indoor Track Meet.  The meet will take place at Luther College and will get started at 5pm.

UNI coach Ben Jacobson was more focused Monday on what his program has accomplished than the way the season ended. The Panthers were part of both ends of March Madness after beating Texas on a half court shot before Sunday night’s stunning collapse in a double overtime loss to Texas A@M.

Instead of a trip to the Sweet 16 the Panthers must settle for a second straight trip to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after earning a second straight Missouri Valley Conference Tournament title.

Jacobson says he can learn from what happened just as much as the players can.

At one point the Panthers were 10-11. They end the season with a record of 23-13.

Iowa’s capital city is getting mostly positive reviews for its job hosting a piece of “March Madness.” Radio Iowa’s Pat Curtis spent some time mingling with fans who traveled hundreds of miles to watch their teams in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.
