Comet Boys and Girls Track Results (4/1)

The Charles City Comet boys and girls track teams were in Waverly yesterday competing along with seven other schools.  As a team, the Comet girls placed fourth with 103 team points and the Comet boys came in seventh with 47 team points.  Some individual highlights from last night’s meet for the Comet girls was McKayla Cole and Whitney Martin placing first and second respectively in the 800 meter run, McKayla Cole was first in the 1500 meter run, Alysha Bilharz and Sarah Turpen went 2nd and 3rd in the 3000 meter run, Sydney Loeckle placed third in the discus, Sarah Martin won the shot put, and the 4×800 meter relay team of Hannah Bjelica, Whitney Martin, Bailey Mitchell and Makayla Nierling took first place.  For the Comet boys, Bryce Foxen placed third in the 200 meter dash, Adam Stewart was third in the 800 meter run, Gavin Connell got first place in the 3200 meter run, Noah Robbins was third in the discus, and Brandon Bluhm claimed first in the long jump.  The Comet boys and girls track teams will be in action again on Monday.
