Charles City To Honor Volunteers On April 21st


Charles City, Iowa – Charles City’s top volunteers will be honored during a recognition event April 21.

It will be held at the Charles City Senior Center, 900 Hulin St. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. followed by breakfast before the awards ceremony at 8 a.m.

Among those to be recognized will be the Man of the Year, Woman of the Year and Caught in the Act Award winners as presented by the Charles City Area Chamber of Commerce. Public nominations for those awards are being sought through noon April 15th.

Chamber winners will be selected by a review committee. Caught in the Act nominees can be anyone who did an unselfish act for others in the community the past year.

Other organizations that want to be part of the event honoring their own volunteers can do so at no charge. They should notify the Chamber by April 15 and are responsible for their own plaque, certificate or gift to present that day.

Tickets are $5 and are available at the door or in advance from the Community Development Office, 401 N. Main St.
