Trial Set For Man Accused Of Sex Assault On Facility Staffer

Mason City, Iowa (AP) – A trial is scheduled to begin June 1 for a man accused of sexually assaulting a staff member at a Mason City facility that helps people with mental illnesses.

Joseph Wallace has pleaded not guilty to felony sexual abuse. Mason City police say a staff member working the overnight shift at the North Iowa Transition Center was assaulted March 29.

Wallace remains in Cerro Gordo County Jail, pending $10,000 bail.
