Volunteers Recognized At Awards Ceremony On Thursday

Charles City, Iowa – Volunteer appreciation awards were given by the Charles City Community Revitalization and Chamber yesterday at a breakfast at the Senior Center in Charles City.

Twenty six awards were presented during the program, including several “Caught in the Act Awards.”

Charles City resident and volunteer Jon Shannon was the first recipient of the morning, to be presented with a Caught in the Act Award. Shannon talked about what he was “caught in the act” for.

Shannon said he volunteers in other capacities throughout the community.

Shannon said he was very excited to receive the award.

Among other award recipients, Amy Staudt was presented Woman of the Year, and Lyle Schlader was presented with the Man of the Year award.
