The Saint Ansgar Saint and North Butler Bearcat boys and girls golf teams were in Top of Iowa Conference meets yesterday at the Pioneer Town and Country Club in Manly.  In the boys meet, Saint Ansgar took first with 179 team strokes, North Butler was second with a score of 188 and Central Springs came in third with a team total of 195.  Collin Salz of Saint Ansgar was the meet medalist with his round of 40, Michael DeBurg of North Butler took home runner-up honors by shooting a 43.  On the girls side, Central Springs won the meet by shooting 233 as a team, North Butler was second with a 276 while Saint Ansgar finished in third with a team score of 277.  Kelli Wilson of Central Springs earned meet medalist honors by carding a 51, North Butler was led by Laura Dreimeyer who shot a 67, and Saint Ansgar’s best score was turned in by Alex Patterson who shot a 57.  The North Butler boys golf team will be in action again today in Mason City while the Bearcat girls and the Saint Ansgar boys and girls will hit the links again on Thursday.

The Rockford Warrior boys and girls golf teams competed in a Top of Iowa Conference triangular along with Northwood-Kensett and Mason City Newman in Northwood.  The Rockford girls finished in second place as a team with a team score of 223 which was 25 strokes behind Newman who won them meet.  The Lady Warriors were led by Sydney Fullerton who earned meet medalist honors after her round of 44.  The Rockford boys also finished in second place at the meet as they shot a 179 as a team with the Newman Knights taking first place with a team score of 172.  Zach Buschbaum of Rockford took home meet medalist honors by shooting a 39 on the day.  The Rockford boys and girls golfers will golf again today against North Iowa at the Buffalo Run Golf Course in Nora Springs.

The Nashua Plainfield boys and girls track teams were in Sumner yesterday for a co-ed meet that featured eight schools in all.  The Nashua girls were able to finish in third place as a team as they earned 76 team points.  Earning first place team points for the Husky girls was Kaylee Eggers in the 110 meter hurdles, and the team of Aubry Bienemann, Emma Sinnwell, Kaylee Cerwinske, and Kaylee Eick in the 4×800 meter relay.  The Nashua boys track team finished in fifth place as a team in their meet with 59 points.  Nashua’s boys also claimed first place team points in two events as Caleb Ulrichs won the shot put and the team of Jason Fisher, Levi Enright, John Krull and Braydon Fisher won the shuttle hurdle relay.  The Nashua-Plainfield boys track teams will be in action again today in Osage while the Nashua girls will compete again on Friday at North Butler.

We now check what else is going on today for our local spring sports teams.  The Osage boys track team will host a meet today in which Charles City and Saint Ansgar will participate in.  The first event will start at 5pm for this meet.  The Charles City Comet girls track team will be in Waukon today for an invitational meet.  Their meet will begin at 5pm.

The Charles City Comet boys golf team will be in a Northeast Iowa Conference dual meet in Oelwein today.  Tee time will be 4pm.

The Charles City Comet girls tennis team will travel to Clear Lake today for a match-up with the Lions which will get started at 4pm.

The Charles City and Osage Trapshooting teams will meet up today at the Osage Gun Club for a meet that will begin at 4:30.

The Nashua-Plainfield and Osage boys and girls golf teams will take part in a Top of Iowa Conference triangular that will be hosted by West Fork and be held at the Ridge Stone Golf Club in Sheffield.  Tee time is at 4:15.

The North Butler boys and girls track teams along with the Rockford boys will compete today as the boys will be in Garner for a meet that will start at 4:30 and the girls will be at Dike-New Hartford for a meet that will begin at 5pm.

The Osage and Saint Ansgar girls track teams will participate in a meet hosted by Forest City today.  That meet will get started at 4:30.
