Thursday Afternoon Collision On Avenue Injures One

Floyd, Iowa – On Thursday at 3:56pm, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Highway 18 / 218 exit on the Avenue of the Saints for a two-vehicle accident.

A 2000 Kenworth semi being driven by 34 year old Jake Krahn or Maniroba, Canada was westbound on the Avenue while a 1999 Chevrolet Lumina driven by 61 year old Ann Kienzle of Riceville was stopped at the stop sign.

Kienzle proceeded to head south when she struck the rear tires on the passenger side of the flatbed trailer.

Kienzle’s vehicle was considered a total loss while there was approximately $2,000 damage to the trailer.

Kienzle was treated for minor injuries and was cited for driving without liability insurance and failure to yield upon entering an intersection with a stop sign.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office was AMR Ambulance and the Floyd Fire Department.
