Fredericksburg, Iowa (AP) – The operator of a nature show who has been accused of attempted enticement of a minor also owns land for a planned children’s zoo in Iowa.

Records show Christopher Kaiser owns the property for Zimmerman’s Children’s Zoo, near Fredericksburg. The zoo’s website says it will open June 1. People at the property wouldn’t comment on future plans after charges were announced.

Kaiser and Barry Devoll are accused of attempting to persuade a minor to engage in sex. Devoll also faces six counts of attempted exploitation of a child for pornography production. Both have pleaded not guilty. Their attorneys didn’t immediately respond to a message seeking comment.

IRS filings say Devoll is president of The Blue Trunk Educational Series, and Kaiser is the director. The nonprofit group sponsors traveling wildlife shows.
