BREAKING: Missing Swimmer’s Body Recovered At Chickasaw Quarry

Update at 4:32pm 5/26/16 – Chickasaw County Emergency Management Coordinator Ken Raising has confirmed to KCHA News that a body has been recovered.  No other information was made available. Keep it clicked here for the latest information.

Ionia, Iowa – Authorities from Chickasaw and Floyd Counties are searching for an 18 year old male who was reported missing on Wednesday afternoon after swimming with a group of friends at Chickasaw Park near Ionia.

Authorities did an extensive search for the man Wednesday night before darkness set in. The search resumed at around 8am Thursday.

Chickasaw County Deputy Sheriff Marty Hemann spoke about the search.

Floyd County Emergency Management was assisting Chickasaw County Emergency Management along with other emergency crews from the area.

Chickasaw Park remains closed while the search continues.
