Charles City, Iowa – Strong to severe thunderstorms rolled across the local area early Saturday morning.
The National Weather Service reported that winds gusted as high as 45 mph, causing small to medium size tree limbs to come crashing down. There were also reports of whole trees being uprooted.
Forecasters said that Charles City received close to 4.5” of rainfall in a 24 hour period ending at 7am Saturday which ended up producing widespread street flooding.
