Youth Enrichment Center At Fairgrounds On Schedule

Charles City, Iowa – The Youth Enrichment Building, which is a joint project of the Charles City FFA and the Floyd County Fair Board, is taking shape nicely.
Floyd County Fair Board member Amy Staudt talks about the project.

The new building will be designed for rental purposes including weddings, family reunions and other community gatherings. Staudt said the FFA students have been very much a part of the project.

The project was initially funded with a $275,000 donation from Gil and Donna White. FFA students and fair board members have been holding fundraisers to meet the project budget, which is expected to cost a little over $800,000.

Staudt said as the project moves forward, the FFA students and the fair board will continue to raise funds and do not plan to take out a loan for the completion of the project.

The Enrichment Building will be used for the first time at the 2017 Floyd County Fair. For more information on the new building or to learn how you can donate, click here.
