Probation For CC Woman Who Shot Car Window

Charles City, Iowa – 24 year old Tawni L. Frey of Charles City has been given a deferred judgment after she was accused of shooting out the rear window of a vehicle occupied by two adults and a child.

In court on Tuesday, Frey was sentenced to probation for one year for fourth-degree criminal mischief. She also was ordered to pay a $315 civil penalty.

She originally was charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon, a Class D felony, following that shooting that was reported on March 21, 2015 in the 1800 block of Shadow Avenue near Charles City. She pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of fourth-degree criminal mischief back in March.

The child in the vehicle received a small cut on his left thumb from the broken glass but did not require medical attention.
