Heat Wave In The City And Hand Showing Thermometer For High Temp

Charles City, Iowa – With heat indexes expected to soar into triple digits toward the end of the week, the National Weather Service is issuing an Excessive Heat Watch for Thursday and Friday.

Floyd County Public Health Nurse Gail Arjes says area residents need to take precautions to guard against heat exhaustion.

With the Floyd County Fair set to start today, KCHA News was told that several fair board members were putting some plans into place to help fair participants make sure they had plenty of cool places to rest and re-hydrate. Participants at the fair will need to make sure they have plenty of fluids and to take frequent breaks in shade and air conditioning during the fair.

Cooler weather is expected to enter the area this weekend.
