Truck Hauling Oliver Tractors Crashes Near Floyd

Floyd, Iowa – On Wednesday at 6:31pm, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one vehicle accident at the intersection of the Avenue of the Saints and Highway 218 near Floyd.

A release from the sheriff’s office says that 71 year old Leon Treptow of Sumner was northbound on highway 218 when he lost control of his 2005 GMC Sierra pulling a goose-neck trailer with two Oliver tractors on it, causing it to jack knife as he tried to make a right hand turn onto Highway 218 into Floyd.

No injuries were reported. Damage is estimated to be around $4,000.

The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by the Floyd Fire Department and AMR Ambulance.
