Lucile M. Scharper, age 95, of Osage, died Saturday, August 27, 2016, at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2016, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage with Pastor Alan Schulz officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Following services, there will be a time for lunch and fellowship at the church.
Lucile was born April 29, 1921, at Osage, Iowa, the daughter of Robert D. and Letha LeVee (Hart) Wilson. She graduated from Osage High School in 1939. On April 28, 1946, Lucile married Robert Chris Scharper in Mason City, Iowa. Lucile was a homemaker and also worked at the Cleveland Hotel, Farmers Produce, and Marr Knitting Mill, all in Osage. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. For years, Lucile raised exotic birds. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting, and was an excellent cook.
Lucile is survived by her sons, Jerry (June) Scharper of Montezuma, Larry (Thelma) Scharper of Osage, and Armond (Barb) Scharper of Plymouth; grandchildren, Jim Scharper, Mike Scharper, Terry Scharper, Charlotte Gordon, Cory Scharper, Danell Sampson, Deb Lincoln, Laura Lincoln, Anthony Scharper, Christy Werger, Robin Roberts, Craig and Kellie Paschka; 29 great-grandchildren; nephews, Richard Wittkamp and Kevin Scharper; niece, Mary Jean Scharper; sister-in-law, Lucille Scharper; numerous other nieces and nephews; and special friend, Belvia Lovik.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Scharper in 1998; sister, Allene Wittkamp; brother-in-law, Bill Scharper; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Briggs and Evelyn Fletcher.
