Mason City Man Leads Authorities On Chase Through Floyd, Chickasaw Counties

Charles City, Iowa – A Mason City man is facing charges after authorities say he led them on a high speed pursuit through Floyd and Chickasaw Counties.

26 year old Kyle Fitzpatrick of Mason City allegedly took off after an attempted traffic stop at the intersection of South Main and 5th Street in Charles City at around 8:30pm Thursday.

A release from the Charles City Police Department stated that Fitzpatrick led officers on a chase out on Highway 14, then south on the Avenue of the Saints to Nashua before he was stopped on Chickasaw County B-60.

He’s been charged with eluding, driving while suspended, speeding, improper use of registration, no proof of insurance, operation without registration and a Cerro Gordo County warrant for a probation violation in a drug case.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office and the Nashua Police Department all assisted with this arrest.
