Bus Driver Charged In Deadly Clayton County Accident

Clayton County, Iowa – Charges have been filed against the school bus driver after a deadly crash in Clayton County last week.

The Iowa State Patrol says Charlotte Scherer has been charged with failure to yield.

Scherer was driving a Clayton Ridge school bus that hit a motorcycle. The bus was going north on Great River Road. The motorcycle was going south. Investigators say the bus turned left into the motorcycle’s path.

50 year old Ronald Kephart from Garnavillo died. The Iowa State Patrol says as of right now, there are no more charges.
