Two injured in Bremer county crash

Waverly, Iowa – The Bremer County Sheriff’s Office says two woman were seriously injured on Thursday in a crash near county roads C-33 and V-56.

The accident, reported at 4:45pm Thursday, involved an eastbound vehicle being operated by Laura Hagemann of St. Paul who deputies say failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a southbound vehicle driven by Jennifer Gruber of Sumner.

Deputies say Hagemann was taken to the hospital in Sumner then airlifted to Iowa City with life threatening injuries. Gruber was transported to the hospital in Sumner as well and then transported to Waterloo with serious injuries.

The Bremer County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Sumner Ambulance, Sumner Fire Department and Readlyn first responders.
