Funeral Announcement

Clarice Mae (Kruger) Wilde, age 79, of Osage, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016, at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage, after a strong and dignified fight with ALS.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 29, 2016, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1202 390th Street, west of Osage, with Pastor Roy Ott officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the ALS Association Iowa Chapter, St. Croix Hospice, or Faith Lutheran Home.

Clarice Mae (Kruger) Wilde was born August 11, 1937, on the family farm near Grafton, Iowa, the daughter of Alvin Gustav and Esther Caroline (Walk) Kruger; she was the tenth of thirteen children. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Manly, Iowa. Through her grade school years Clarice attended country school and then attended Plymouth Public Schools through ninth grade. She then attended and graduated from Grafton High School in 1955 where she loved participating in theater and playing basketball in the state tournament. On October 28, 1956, Clarice was united in marriage to Robert Charles Wilde at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Manly. This union would be blessed with four children. She co-owned and operated WE Upholstery with her sister for over 35 years. Clarice possessed many talents and passions and was an excellent seamstress, loved refinishing furniture, crafting, antiquing, gardening, collecting flow blue china, and scrapbooking. Gingersnaps, chocolate chip cookies and chocolate raised donuts were her favorite treats to bake and always have on hand as she worked tirelessly to make every family event special. She loved entertaining, sharing time with friends, shopping, laughter, and good conversations. Clarice was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, was an active member of WELCA, and served on many boards and committees. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and would have soon been a wonderful great-grandmother. Her family was always her main focus and the pride and love she had for all of them was always evident.

Those blessed and grateful for sharing in her life are her husband of 60 years, Robert Wilde of Osage, Iowa; her children, Denise Miller and her special friend John Safranski of Bloomington, Minnesota, Scott Wilde and his wife Susan of Grafton, Iowa, Jeannene Larson and her husband John of Estherville, Iowa, and Brenda Wilde of West Des Moines, Iowa; her grandchildren, Shawna (Miller) Bornholdt and husband Bob, Danielle (Miller) Fowler and husband Michael, Dana Miller and fiancé Chris Hall, Darren Miller, Morgan (Wilde) Dykstra and husband Ethan, Lauren Wilde, Jenna (Larson) Simpson and husband Steven, Andrew Larson , Derek Siedelmann; her siblings, Ruth (Phil) Erdmann, Deanna (Gary) Sande, Allen Kruger and his special friend Sandy; her sisters-in-law, Rose Marie Kruger, Jackie Kruger, Juanita Kruger, Maxine Kruger and Sharon (Marvin) Hanson; her brother-in-law, Eugene Wilde; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Myrtle Davis, Gladys Grant, Dora Runyon, Walter, Harold, Edward, Harvey and Robert Kruger, and brother in infancy, Richard; as well as a sister-in-law, Esther Wilde, and brothers-in-law, Jim Davis, David Runyon and George Grant.

We would like to give special thanks to all the wonderful and caring staff of Faith Lutheran Home, Osage, Iowa, for all their loving attention. Also, special thanks to St. Croix Hospice, and the ALS Association Iowa Chapter, without whom we would have never made it through this journey.
