Homecoming celebrations continue for North Butler

Greene, Iowa – North Butler is celebrating their homecoming this week, with a theme of community. Student organizers wanted the focus to be on community, after all the hours of volunteerism that was spent in helping residents of Greene after the recent flooding.

Festivities begin Thursday at 6:30 p.m. with a community pep rally at the old gym in the high school. The night, which will honor North Butler students and the community, will feature the North Butler High School band, dance team, the student council, cheerleaders, along with the football, volley ball and cross country teams.

The coronation of the homecoming king and queen will also take place at the pep rally. The homecoming court includes Gage Johnson, Addyson Clark, Nick Kabela, Shayna engelhardt, Tyler Merfeld, Makayla Hauser, Dalton Nelson, Taylor Salge, Clay Schultz, Kayla Siemens, Randy Wildeboer and Hallie Testroet.

The North Butler Bearcats will host the Rudd-Rockford Warriors at the football game on Friday night with a 7 p.m. kickoff. The North Butler student council is sponsoring a “United We Stand” night at the game and ask the all fans wear their 2016 Homecoming shirts.
