Hampton Woman Charged After Crashing Into Mason City Police Car

Mason City, Iowa – A Hampton woman has been cited after she hit a Mason City Police cruiser with her vehicle on Tuesday morning.

The Iowa State Patrol says Linda Palo was turning from North Georgia Avenue to East State Street when she struck the patrol car, which was heading eastbound.

Palo was checked by paramedics at the scene and then released. The officer, Brent Dettman, was not injured in the crash.

Damage was confined to the front left corner of the patrol vehicle along with the front of Palo’s vehicle. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Mason City Police, Mason City Fire Medics and the Iowa State Patrol assisted at the scene.
