Two Charles City Residents Killed In Crash West Of Floyd

Floyd, Iowa – Two Charles City residents were killed in a crash near the intersection of Highway 18 and Lancer Avenue, a few miles west of Floyd.

The Iowa State Patrol says a 1995 Ford pickup being driven by 25 year old Colbie Gallipo of Forest Lake, MN was west-bound on Highway 18 while a 2001 Honda Civic being driven by 75 year old Marilyn Wulff of Charles City was south-bound on Lancer Avenue.

The crash was reported at 4:56pm on Friday.

According to the accident report, Wulff failed to obey the stop sign and entered the highway where she was hit on the driver’s side by the Gallipo vehicle.

Wulff and a passenger in her vehicle, 14 year old Jadon Wulff also of Charles City were transported to Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa where they were pronounced dead. Troopers say that neither was wearing seat belts. No injuries were reported in the Gallipo vehicle.

The accident remains under investigation. Iowa State Patrol was assisted at the scene by Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, Floyd Fire and Rescue, Rudd Fire and AMR Ambulance.
