In a game heard right here on KCHA Friday night, the Charles City Comet football team was in Van Horne for a Class 3A District 3 meeting with Benton Community.  The game began rough as The Comets had a punt blocked on their first offensive possession which led to a Bobcat touchdown.  Charles City was never able to regroup and lost the game 44-13.  Senior Comet quarterback Drew Mitchell finished the night with 161 yards passing including a 20-yard touchdown pass to Jaden Foster and a 65 yard TD pass to Tre Walker.  The Comet rushing attack was almost none existent as the Comets rushed for only 26 yards on the night.  With the loss, the Comet football team drops to 3-4 overall this season and they are now 3-2 in District play.  Charles City will host Decorah this Friday night for their final home game of the season.

The Nashua-Plainfield Husky football team had their third game in eight days on Friday night and it looked like fatigue was a factor against Grundy Center in a Class A District 3 match up at Grundy Center.  Nashua finished the night with just 145 yards of total offense and they committed five turnovers which resulted in a 54-0 defeat.  Nashua football falls to 3-4 overall this season and they drop to 2-3 in the District.  Next up for the Huskies will be a home meeting with Mason City Newman Catholic this Friday night.

The Osage Green Devil football team was unable to pick up their first District win on Friday night as they were beaten at home by eighth ranked New Hampton 50-14.  Junior Green Devil quarterback Drew Olson finished the night with 92 yards passing which included a 21-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Berge.  Thurston Taits had a 64-yard TD run for Osage as he finished his nigh with 96 rushing yards.  The Osage football team is now 1-6 overall this season and they fall to 0-5 in Class 2A District 2.  The Green Devils will try and get into the District win column this Friday night at Hampton-Dumont.

The North Butler Bearcat football team took on West Fork on Friday night on the road in a Class A District 3 game.  North Butler was overmatched in the game and got blown out by the War-Hawks 52-2.  The Bearcat football team is now 2-5 overall this season and their District record is now 1-4.  The Bearcats will be at home this Friday night against Grundy Center.

The Rockford Warrior football team was at home on Friday night for a Class A District 3 match-up with West Hancock.  The Warriors ran into a buzz saw as they had a tough time on both sides of the ball in a 65-6 loss.  Rockford football falls to 0-7 overall this season and they are now 0-5 in District play.  The Warriors will look for their first win this Friday night at West Fork.

The top-ranked Saint Ansgar Saints football team was able to stay unbeaten on Friday night as they picked up a 41-21 win over Mason City Newman Catholic in Mason City.  The Saints offense was led by Parker Hendrickson as he finished with 150 rushing yards and a touchdown, Dayton Smith had a pair of one-yard touchdown runs, John Patterson also had a rushing touchdown and senior quarterback Ben Boerjan had 81 passing yards including a 35-yard TD pass to Cole Willert.  Hendrickson had the final Saints touchdown as he returned a kickoff 86 yards for a score.  The Saint Ansgar football team moves to 7-0 overall this season and they are 5-0 in the District.  The Saints can clinch a playoff berth this Friday night if they can beat West Hancock at home.
