Charles City Drama Dept. Presents Shrek – The Musical Nov. 4th & 5th

Charles City, Iowa – The Charles City Drama Department has been busy memorizing lines, preparing the set and practicing the music for the upcoming fall production of Shrek – The Musical.

Senior Nathaniel Reams, who plays Gingerbread Man, says the production is bitter-sweet for him, as its his last high school musical of his career. He talked about how important being in drama and theater has been for him throughout his middle school and high school years.

Reams explains the story line of the musical, which is based on the book motion picture and book by William Steig.

Senior lead Kelly Pellymonter, who plays Ogre Fiona in the musical, said the production is a major-undertaking for the cast and crew.

Sophomore Olivia Wolfe talks about her role as Daytime Fiona.

Ruby Peterson, another sophomore, talked about her role as Donkey.

Showtimes are Friday, Nov. 4th, 7 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 5th, 7 p.m. The production will be held in the North Grand Auditorium at 500 N. Grand Avenue. All seats are reserved for $5.00.

Box office hours in the lobby are from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday Oct. 27th, Monday Oct. 31st, Tuesday Nov. 1st and Thursday Nov. 3rd.
