Charles City, Iowa – Charles City and Floyd County officials have selected a consultant to continue to explore the option of building a joint law enforcement center for the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office along with the Charles City Police Department.

That’s City Administrator Steve Diers who said the committee is looking forward to the next step in working with the consultants, who have a lot of experience in working with law enforcement centers and jails.

The Street Department has announced that the final pickup for 2016 will begin Monday November 7th. They request that your leaves be raked into the street 18 to 24 inches from the curb. This will be the last round and they will only be back by each residence one last time. Shaw Avenue dumpsite is still open daily for your convenience, so leaves and brush may be taken out during daylight hours.
