In a match heard right here on KCHA last night, the Charles City Comet volleyball team hosted Waterloo East in the Class 4A Region 5 Finals.  The Comets took game one 25-15, East won game two 27-25, Charles City was then able to win game three 25-11 and game four 25-19 to take the match 3 games to one and advance to State.  Kelsi Crooks led the Comets with 16 kills, Jodie Sindlinger had ten kills, Sydney Loeckle had 38 assists, Katie Foster had 23 digs and Sara Martin was a perfect 21 of 21 serving with an ace.  Charles City volleyball improves to 37-5 overall this season and their first match down at State will be next Tuesday night against Bishop Heelan.

The Osage Green Devil volleyball team was in West Union last night for the Class 3A Region 6 Final against West Delaware.  The Green Devils dropped game one 25-17, but then took it to the third ranked Hawks as they beat them in game two 25-22, won game three 25-22 and pulled off a 25-23 win in game four to defeat West Delaware three games to one.  Osage volleyball is now 23-11 overall this season and will play in the Class 3A State Quarterfinals next Wednesday at 10am.
