Scoring the winning points at a basketball game

The Charles City Comet girls basketball team will open up its 2016-2017 season tonight at home.  Clear Lake comes into the game tonight having lost their first game of the season.  Tonight’s game will take place in the New Competition Gym and the teams will play a JV game first at 6:15 and the Varsity game will follow at about 7:30.

The Nashua-Plainfield Husky girls basketball team hosted New Hampton last night for their season opener.  The Huskies fell behind early and trailed 30-5 at halftime.  The Huskies would make a run in the second half, but it was not near enough as they lost to the Chickasaws 56-19.  Sierra Fisher had six points to lead Nashua, and Abby Lumley grabbed seven rebounds for the Huskies.  Nashua starts the season at 0-1 and their next game will be a week from tonight against Rockford.

The Osage Green Devil girls basketball team will open up their season tonight on the road as they will take on Garner-Hayfield-Ventura.  Tipoff for the Varsity game will be at about 7:30.
