Charles City Students Loving Their New School Lunches

Charles City, Iowa – “Lunch is so great now! We love it school lunch!”

Those were phrases Charles City Middle School students used in describing their new school lunch menu, provided by the company Taher, the company the district hired for the school lunch program.

School board member Robin Macomber talked about the board decision to hire an outside company.

Macomber said of all the work she has been involved with on the school board, the new lunch program has been the one thing she has had the most compliments about and school lunch numbers across the district have risen significantly.

Taher district manager Jayme Sundby said overall the program has gone very well.

Middle school students had rave reviews about their lunches.

Regional Chef Heidi Osterhaus with Taher talked about the role she has with the lunch program.

Middle School student Amelia Brown had this to say about her favorite lunch at school.

Overall, every student gave this year’s school lunch program two thumbs up!
