4 guns and drug paraphernalia seized on Avenue of Saints stop near Floyd

Charles City, Iowa -On Friday, the Floyd County Sheriff’s department sent a press release regarding arrests that were made on November 27th.

Floyd County Sheriff deputies made a traffic stop on November 27th on the Avenue of the Saints one mile north of Floyd for a vehicle that was speeding.

Upon investigation the deputy smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle.

A search was conducted on the vehicle and four handguns were located along with ammunition. 27 year old Corey Brown of Brookings, South Dakota, was arrested for four counts of felon in possession of a firearm, a class D felony and four counts of carrying weapons, an aggravated misdemeanor.

Brown had his initial appearance and was held on a $25,000 cash bond.

All four handguns were sent to the Iowa DCI Lab for fingerprint and ballistic testing.

The driver of the vehicle, 20 year old Najwa Wilson also of Brookings, South Dakota was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to have a valid driver’s license.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol.
