Slick travel expected on Christmas; Freezing Rain Advisory continues

Snow Roads, Snow On Asphalt, Rural Roads

Charles City Iowa – A storm system has pushed freezing drizzle across northern Iowa this Christmas morning.

According to the National Weather Service in La Crosse, a Freezing Rain Advisory is now in effect until noon where a few hundredths of an inch of ice could be possible, mainly on untreated and less traveled surfaces.

The conditions will get better throughout the day as the temperature rises above freezing and any freezing rain will switch to all rain. Thunderstorms are also possible with locally heavy rainfall the primary threat. Localized street flooding is also possible.
