Charles City, Iowa – A Charles City man is pleading not guilty to 1st degree robbery.

Court records state that 36 year old Donald Edward McIntyre was arrested back on December 24th after a confrontation at 1211 E Street on December 27th of 2015 with McIntyre attacking a male subject.

He allegedly hit the man in the head with a club and also tried to choke him with a club until the victim about passed out.

Court documents go on to say that McIntyre left after the victim gave him $100.

Officers say McIntyre was identified in a photo lineup, his DNA matched the club and knife found at the scene and that footprints at the scene ended up matching boots seized from his home.

McIntyre is set to stand trial on February 28th.
