CC Schools Adds Student Board Member; Speaks To Legislators

Charles City, Iowa – The Charles City School Board recently added an additional member to their board, this person being a student.

Dylan Salinas recently became a non-voting member of the school board as a representative of the student body of Charles City High School. Salinas, a junior, talked about his new appointment.

Salinas said his first meeting was when the board members voted to purchase property for a new sports complex. He offered his thoughts on the purchase.

Salinas traveled with the school board members and other school district representatives to speak with Iowa legislators about school issues.

This is the third year the Charles City School Board has attended the session and Salinas said for the most part, he felt like the legislators were listening to their thoughts and concerns.
