Planning to visit a hospital? There may be restrictions in place

New Hampton, Iowa – Visitor restrictions continue at area hospitals due to the influenza.

Mercy Medical Center’s public relations director Jenny Monteith talks about the visitation policies at the New Hampton health facility.

Monteith said the OB unit at Mercy Medical Center will see the most significant change in visitor restriction.

Pediatric patients are also being restricted to just being visited by parents and grandparents.

Patients isolation are restricted to a significant other, or parents, and two other designated visitors.

Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City has not placed any restrictions on patient visitation and Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage remains on a Level 3 restriction.
