Charles City, Iowa – A Charles City man is in some trouble after leaving the scene of an accident at 3:48pm Thursday.

Charles City Police say a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado operated by 55-year-old Douglas Crooks of Charles City was northbound in the 100 block of South Main Street when he attempted to pass a 2001 Chevrolet Impala driven by Darrin Bunston.

Police say Crooks sideswiped the Bunston vehicle and then continued on.

Then at 5:49pm, officers then went to the 800 block of Beck Street to talk to Crooks about the accident where he was then arrested for interference with official acts and leaving the scene of an accident. He’s also been charged with failure to maintain control.
