New Hampton, Iowa – With spring planting just around the corner, the USDA is urging farmers to stop in to their USDA Farm agencies to sign up for this year’s farm program and update any changes in their farming operations.

Ron Pethoud, an agent with the New Hampton USDA Farm Agency explains.

Pethoud talked about the changes that should be reported for the year.

Pethoud said any changes need to be reported prior to the planting season, before farmers certify their crops. He said the process is not lengthy at all, especially if farmers have an appointment at the USDA Farm agency.

In New Hampton, stop by 420 W. Milwaukee Street or call (641) 394-5929 or in Charles City, the FSA office is located at 611 Beck Street or call (641) 228-4055.
