CC man among those charged in burglary at home in Hampton

Hampton, Iowa – A Charles City man along with two other people have been charged with burglary at a home in Hampton.

Jason Riggan of Charles City, along with Nicholas Howe and Christian Carstens, both of Waukon, have all been charged in the burglary.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department reported that the three were accused due to evidence including footprints and a witness. The complains says firearms, ammunition and a gun safe were stolen.

The reports indicate 19-year old Carstens of Waukon kicked open a locked basement door at the home, 20-year old Riggan of Charles City entered the home and stole the owner’s belongings and 19-year old Howe of Waukon drove the getaway vehicle. The incident reportedly occurred on December 30th.

Carstens has plead not guilty and will go to trial in April. Neither Howe or Riggan have entered pleas.
