Hawkeye man jailed after motorcycle chase

West Union, Iowa – A Fayette County Sheriff deputy used her vehicle to stop a motorcycle chase on Friday.

According to a release, at 2:45am, a deputy had a close call with a motorcyclist, with the operator of the cycle taking off about a mile north of West Union.

The chase went through West Union where the deputy cornered the driver, wedging her vehicle up under the back of the tire effectively ending the chase.

20-year-old Benjamin McIntyre of Hawkeye is charged with eluding law enforcement, reckless driving along with multiple traffic violations.
