Fort Atkinson, Iowa – Winneshiek County officials reported that the areas of Fort Atkinson, Calmar and Ossian received extensive damage after the storm ripped through north and northeast Iowa on Monday.

The area most heavily damaged was along 220th Avenue and officials estimated that 70-80% of the area was damaged from wind and hail.

Officials said that over 90 volunteers along with members of 9 fire departments from Winneshiek, Chickasaw and Fayette counties, the Iowa State Patrol, Alliant Energy and area emergency managers assisted with clean-up in the aftermath of the storm.
