Charles City, Iowa – Charles City lost their suspension bridge during the floods of 2008, but next weekend, people will honor the bridge with an art piece.
Artist David Williamson started this project in October of 2013 but now that it is almost complete, the dedication for the work of art will be on July 1st beginning at 1:30pm
The project is called Revival. The art piece towers at 20 feet tall and is a three-sided structure. Each side has a different title and they are Remembering, Ruins, and Recovery. Williamson says the community shaped how this piece would look.
There will be a reception after at the Charles City Arts Center immediately after the dedication. In case of inclement weather, the dedication will also take place at the Arts Center.
