Tuber from Sumner rescued on Turkey River near Hawkeye

Hawkeye, Iowa – Law enforcement officers and fire fighters rescued a women who was stuck on the Turkey River near Hawkeye on Friday.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says the incident occurred near Gouldsburg Park at about 2:20pm. When rescue crews arrived, they observed a female sitting on a log that was wedged against a bridge near County Road W-14 to the north of Sunset Road.

The tuber, 51 year old Teresa Marie Dane of Sumner was safely removed from the water unharmed.

The Tri-State Ambulance assisted sheriff’s deputies at the scene.
