Nashua-Plainfield softball was in post season action last night in the second round of the regional tournament against Clarksville. After the Huskies won in the first round, they dropped this game 18-0. Clarksville would score three runs in the first inning and would never look back. Sierra Fisher and Sydney Hansen were the only hitters for Nashua to put the ball in play. Toyia Griffin took the loss on the mound as she lasted just over one inning but was charged with seven unearned runs. That loss ends the Husky’s season and they finish with a 1-22 record.

The Husky’s baseball team would actually hold a 1-0 lead in their game last night through two innings before they continued their losing season. Nashua lost to Tripoli 11-1 in six innings. Mason Hyde had the only RBI of the game for the Huskies and he drove in Jared Whitinger. Levi Enright would have the only hit of the game for Nashua as they fall to 0-19 on the season with their final regular season game being tonight at Clarksville.

Osage softball was in action last night for the first round of their regional tournament against West Delaware. The Hawks would jump out of the gates early and would have the Green Devils behind them the entire game. Osage managed to scratch one run across home plate in the sixth inning but that was not enough as they would fall, 8-1. The Green Devils seasons ends with a 12-20 record.

The Green Devils baseball team wrapped up their regular season last night when they traveled to Riceville for a game. This game would go back and forth as Osage got the early lead, lost the lead, then scored two runs in the sixth to secure the win, 9-7. Hunter Wagner had three hits and four RBIs while Garrett Maakestad would get the win on the mound. That win brings Osage to 11-15 and they will start their post season play next.

The North Butler softball team played their first round regional game last night against North Iowa. Nicole Heeren delivered the biggest hit of the season for the Bearcats as she drove in the only two runs of the game for either team. North Butler defeats North Iowa, 2-0. The Bearcats got a great performance on the mound as Alex Mathers would throw a complete game, shutout. North Butler will now play Bishop Garrigan Friday night in Allison at 7 pm. The Bearcats are 22-7 on the season while Bishop Garrigan is 21-9. These two teams have not faced off against each other this year.

The second round softball game between Janesville and Rockford had more of a football feel to it as the final score was 22-18, Janesville. Offense was no issue in this game as the two teams combined for 40 runs. The loss ends Rockford’s season as they fall to 15-13.

Rockford baseball would also lose their regular season game last night against Forest City. This was a road game for the Warriors and they were only able to get one hit, that from Zach Bushbaum. Kayden Lyman would take the loss as he pitched 2/3 of an inning and allowed two runs. Max Rooney would get walked twice as the final score was 7-0 in favor of Forest City. That game was the last regular season game for Rockford as they now sit with a record of 11-13.
