Power remains out for some across north Iowa

Cresco, Iowa – Storms rolled through northeast Iowa last night causing damage to trees and buildings. Strong winds also put thousands of people out of power.

According to the MiEnergy Facebook page, Iowa still has about 2,500 power outages this morning as of 9:30 am.

MiEnergy says, “Crews have worked all night and are continuing to restore power. The good news is we are expecting up to six fresh crews from other Iowa cooperatives to arrive later this morning.”

They added that there is still powerlines on the ground in some areas and they urged people to use caution and stay away from these downed or low hanging power lines.
