Nashua man arrested after slashing numerous tires in Cedar Falls

Cedar Falls, Iowa – A Nashua man is in trouble after allegedly going on a tire slashing spree in Cedar Falls.

Authorities say 31 year old Christopher Paul Rumachik was arrested on Wednesday and charged with 2nd degree criminal mischief.

Police say residents reported numerous slashed tires on Tuesday in different areas of town. One witness says they saw a man exit a Ford Focus, slash a tire and then took off. Witnesses gave chase to the Focus and ended up getting the license plate number, which was registered to Rumachick’s father.

Total damage was estimated at $1,700. He’s being held in the Black Hawk County Jail with bond set at $5,000.
