ISU NE Research Farm Highlights Home Demonstration Garden on Saturday

The Annual Home Demonstration Garden Tour at the ISU Northeast Research Farm will take place on August 5th.

Cindy Haynes, ISU Horticulturalist, will highlight this year’s garden theme “Donation Gardens” and discuss this year’s vegetable and flower cultivars planted and other gardening techniques.

Ken Pecinovsky, Farm’s Superintendent, says more about the event.

Last year, the ISU NE Research Farm donated over 3100 lbs of marketable produce from less than a tenth of an acre, to local food pantries by the hard work of Iowa Master Gardener volunteers.

The field day is free and open to the public and homemade ice cream will be served after the conclusion of the program. It starts at the Borlaug Learning Center on the ISU Northeast Research Farm.

For more information about the event, call Ken Pecinovsky, at 641-435-4864.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
