Cambrex to expand Charles City location with new $24 Million facility

Charles City, Iowa – Cambrex opened up a $50 million, 7,500 square foot facility in Charles City in 2016 that manufactures APIs and pharmaceutical intermediates. The business will now add another new facility to Charles City.

The new facility will manufacture highly potent APIs. Cambrex is investing $24 million into a 4,500 square foot production. There will also be a 2,200 gallon reactor capacity inside. These vessels will run from 200 to 1,000 gallons.

The project is expected to be finished some time in 2019. This is part of an ongoing strategic campaign to invest API development and manufacturing across Cambrex’s network.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
